A Harley rider is passing the zoo, when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion’s cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the cuff of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents.

The biker jumps off his bike, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch.

Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings her to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly.

A New York Times reporter has watched the whole event. The reporter says, ‘Sir, this was the most gallant and brave thing I saw a man do in my whole life..’

The biker replies, ‘Why, it was nothing, really, the lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger, and acted as I felt right.’ The reporter says, ‘Well, I’m a journalist from the New York Times, and tomorrow’s paper will have this story on the front page… So, what do you do for a living and what political affiliation do you have?’

The biker replies, ‘I’m a U..S. Marine and a Republican.’

The following morning the biker buys The New York Times to see if it indeed brings news of his actions, and reads, on front page:

It was autumn, and the Indians on the remote reservation asked their New Chief if the winter was going to be cold or mild. Since he was an Indian chief in a modern society, he couldn’t tell what the weather was going to be.

Nevertheless, to be on the safe side, he replied to his Tribe that the winter was indeed going to be cold and that the members of the village should collect wood to be prepared.

But also being a practical leader, after several days he got an idea.

He went to the phone booth, called the National Weather Service and asked “Is the coming winter going to be cold?” “It looks like this winter is going to be quite cold indeed,” the meteorologist at the weather service responded.

So the Chief went back to his people and told them to collect even more Wood.

A week later, he called the National Weather Service again. “Is it Going to be a very cold winter?” “Yes,” the man at National Weather Service again replied, “It’s definitely going to be a very cold winter. ”

The Chief again went back to his people and ordered them to collect every scrap of wood they could find. Two weeks later, he called the National Weather Service again. “Are you absolutely sure that the winter is going to be very cold?”

“Absolutely”, the man replied. “It’s going to be one of the coldest winters ever. ” “How can you be so sure?” the Chief asked. The weatherman replied, “The Red Indians are collecting wood like Crazy.”

We forget that Congress is more responsible for what happens, rather than the president.

2. Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3. The unemployment rate was 4.5%.

THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ASKED FOR A CHANGE
(They elected a majority of Democrats to Congress)
AND THEY GOT IT:

1. Consumer confidence plummet;
2. The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3 a gallon;
3. Unemployment is up to 5%;
4. American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);
5. Americans have had their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;
6. 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

The most significant accomplishment by the Democrat controlled Congress in 2007:
THEY VOTED TO INCREASE THEIR PAY!
